Being true to the motto Smaller, Faster, Cooler, XIMEA continued, in the departing year, with new innovations in the field of machine vision cameras and scientific products.
Where the common practice remains in the level of price reduction and integration of cheapest sensors, we consider it vital for maintaining the role of the innovator to pursue new technologies and standards. Major breakthroughs of these year were certainly the world's first industrial Thunderbolt technology enabled cameras and world's smallest Hyperspectral camera based on IMEC sensors and USB3 Vision platform. Beside exciting products there were also concepts unique for the industry, including the so called xiLab, where company combines all of its prototype class of products under one umbrella. This concept is enhanced by the closer cooperation with various partners who provide 3D technology or special software which helps with demosaicing or compression for example. In order to sustain the heavy load of innovation, company has to constantly improve facilities and tools, grow distribution network, pass standards certifications, rotate personnel and much more. Main challenges for next year are recognized as even closer attention to customers' needs and shorter time for addressing them since global industry is doing well and growing at rapid speed, which brings revenue, but also pressures of demand.
