Our 42nd year in business brought many new product enhancements and releases, all focused on making the design engineer's job easier, by helping save valuable time and money. 2014 was another very busy and profitable year for Sunstone Circuits.

Here are just a few newsworthy items from Sunstone Circuits in 2014:

. In February, we launched a new corporate website -www.sunstone.com. The new website, which is cleaner in design and easier for the user to navigate, features streamlined navigation and user content, including whitepapers, videos, and customer testimonials.

. In March, we announced the launch of a real On-Time Guarantee for PCBExpress(R) Quickturn, PCB123(R) and ValueProto(R) orders. With this guarantee, orders placed through these services will ship from Sunstone to meet the expected delivery date, or we will refund the customer's money, plain and simple. The Sunstone On-Time Guarantee is a first in the PCB industry, and does not have numerous restrictions and rules that would void its usability.

. Also in March, we introduced a new and improved PCBExpress(R) Quickturn Quote Form. With the new interactive quote form, customers needing a fast turnaround on 2- to 6-layer printed circuit boards will be able to quote and order PCBs even more quickly on the newly redesigned website.

. In August, we announced the newest version of our free PCB design tool, PCB123. Features of the new version include new and improved Edit Panels, the addition of drag-and-drop functionality for parts, and smoother rendering performance. PCB123 also has the largest freely available parts library anywhere, with 750,000+ parts for immediate use.

. In November, we announced the addition of a Design for Manufacture (DFM) tool, DFMplus. DFMplus will allow potential issues to be fixed in the PCB design phase, to ensure manufacturability by Sunstone Circuits. By using the DFMplus tool, design engineers can verify their PCB design before placing their order, resulting in a much smoother ordering process.

With 2014 came several awards for Sunstone Circuits as well. We were named one of The Oregonian's Top Work Places in Oregon. Companies were recognized based on several factors around employee engagement, direction, execution, connection, leadership, pay and benefits. Also, for the second year in a row, we took home an award for being named one of the Healthiest Employers of Oregon. The awards are given annually to companies that promote the value of workplace wellness and demonstrate innovation and leadership in their wellness programs. Sunstone again placed in the top ten for the "medium sized employers" category -- those with 100-499 employees.
