How has COVID-19 affected Insituware?
Insituware is a unique blend of industry leaders, scientists, engineers, and designers, all of whom are motivated to bring real change to the electronics industry. As with most companies in the electronics industry, we have had to learn how to adapt to this new environment with COVID-19. It has been to our advantage that we are a capable, nimble company which has allowed us to navigate the consequences of the pandemic while still delivering solutions that improve our customers' processes. 2020 was a critical year for Insituware as we launched and delivered the Vision MARK-1, the first smart measurement solution for quality control of materials in the electronics manufacturing industry. Our revolutionary handheld tools enable rapid, real-time inspection to increase throughput, reduce costs, and improve reliability directly on the factory floor. With the Vision MARK-1, electronics manufacturing companies now can improve quality control by monitoring their solder paste’s fitness for use in receiving, storage, production, and over the life of the paste. Additionally, they can reduce coating failures by measuring their conformal coating in real-time prior to application to improve its uniformity and ensure proper thickness. To achieve this milestone during the pandemic, we had to learn how to blend the integration of our materials R&D lab, engineering design, and software development by using both telework and in-lab working environments that met or exceeded CDC guidelines to keep our employees safe. Our Insituware family is the essence of this company, and our core values are centered around family and taking care of them. Moving forward into 2021, we are developing new material characterization methods so that when manufacturing companies ramp up again, we will be ready with our mobile technology solutions for optimizing materials control. The Vision MARK-1 enables EMS companies to take the next step on the Industry 4.0 pathway and get closer to zero defects.
