For most companies and MicroCare specifically, the global impact from COVID-19 was unlike anything we've ever seen. Fortunately, our inherent commitment to increasing market diversity showed positive results to our business. While some customers slowed down, others saw an uptick in activity.
Our flexibility allowed us to quickly shift our priorities to meet those customer needs and that helped sustain us through the height of the pandemic. Where we could, we asked employees to work from home. This emergency solution worked so well, that we now have a permanent flexible work from home policy that we believe makes MicroCare a more employee-centric place to work. Overall, MicroCare is healthy, both from a medical and business perspective. Our customers have certainly been impacted by the inventory shortages of semiconductors and electronics components caused by the pandemic, but for MicroCare our biggest challenges are navigating global logistics delays and chemical supply shortages. Fortunately, our entire team mobilized quickly and early-on in the pandemic to secure our supply chain and maintain our manufacturing operations. Our focus was, and continues to be on maintaining our business continuity and delivering the cleaning products and services our customers need. Here at Microcare, we expect 2022 to be a strong year. Consumer demand for electronics products remains high and although the first half of 2022 will likely continue to see supply chain disruptions, we're optimistic this will lessen for the second half of the year. We're excited about travelling again this year. As an industry we rely on trade shows and in-person meetings to build strong relationships. So, we began making selective trips to see our customers after the COVID-19 vaccines were widely available. We're being cautious, though, making sure to follow all safety guidelines and protocols wherever we travel. We're looking forward to seeing our customers again and helping them plan and execute their upcoming cleaning projects in 2022.
