Electronic manufacturing is growing and investing, raising demand for SMT equipment and industrial robots

While the desire to keep improving productivity is a constant in electronics manufacturing, the tools available always become more and more powerful. It’s exciting for us at Yamaha Motor Robotics Europe to be at the forefront of this trend.

In the past year, we began introducing new products that leverage AI to assist processes such as programming machines and analysing inspection images. In the year to come, and beyond, we expect to apply this technology in more new ways to help our customers raise output while at the same time lowering their energy consumption and reducing waste.

Generally, electronics manufacturing is growing strongly. The leading sectors are healthcare technology, automotive – with trends like autonomous driving and electric powertrains - and communication equipment, fuelled by the demand for connected everything and the adoption of 5G.

Our new generation SMT platforms, the YR series, are achieving notable successes with manufacturers servicing these markets, who are seeking to build technically advanced assemblies with consistent high quality and at high speed.

Also, more EMS companies are understanding how industrial robots can help boost production and reduce errors and rework when used for tasks such as material handling, picking, mechanical assembly, and dispensing. This, of course, is the core competence of Yamaha Robotics, and will add to our growth in 2023 and best serve our customers with innovative technologies.
