How was business in 2022 and what do you expect for the industry in 2023?
In the USA business was strong through the third quarter of 2022. We experienced increased inventory levels with our customer base as orders were either canceled or extended into 2023. We expect a soft beginning in 2023 as inventory is consumed and orders level off.

Will you be launching new products or services in 2023?
Protavic America, Inc. will be launching new products in the EV and mobile phone business as well as power electronics. We see a strong need for advanced technologies and are actively working to provide these technologies.

Have supply chain shortages of semiconductors and electronic components caused problems for your company in 2022 and what have you done to reduce these issues in 2023?
Protavic America, Inc. faced high demand and long lead times for raw materials in 2022. We increased production during this unsettled time and experienced relief in the second half of the year as raw material production and inventories increased. We see limited issues with the supply chainmoving into 2023. We do not directly purchase semiconductors and electronic components.

Are you able to hire enough qualified employees? What could the industry do to develop a larger pool of skilled workers?
Protavic America, Inc. was able hire enough labor during 2022; albeit the market is very tight. Wefound that the desired skill level was and continues to be difficult to attain as we enter 2023.

Has your company travel returned to pre-pandemic levels or are you still limiting travel to customer sites or industry conferences in 2023?
Protavic America, Inc. has seen a significant improvement in travel to our customers. We are finding that many customers still utilize “working from home” which does impact our ability to meet and work with our customers.

Was your business able to recover fully or partially from the global pandemic during 2021? Do you still have employees working from home?
Protavic America, Inc. Increased sales during the pandemic. We do not have any employees working from home.

Has your company been affected by the inventory shortages of semiconductors and electronic components in 2021?
Protavic America, Inc. Is not directly impacted by these shortages.

Are you able to hire enough qualified employees?
We are able to find qualified employees; albeit the labor market is very tight.

What are your expectations for the electronics assembly industry in 2023?
It is extremely difficult to predict as inventories are high and demand is unknown in most industries today. We do not directly operate in the electronics assembly business so we cannot know what to expect in that regard.

Have you or will you travel again to customer sites or industry conferences in 2023?
Yes, we will travel regularly to customer sites and actively participate in trade shows and conference in 2023.
