August 13, 2012 Josh Saunders Takes the Lead at A-Laser as Company President SAN JOSE, CA -- A-Laser, a division of FCT Assembly and a premier laser cutting service specializing in the ablation of ultra-thin metals and plastics, announces the appointment of Josh Saunders to president. "Coming into FCT Assembly (FCTA) with other well-established divisions, I needed to not only find the niche A-Laser would serve, but to ensure that niche would fit into the full-service offerings of FCTA. The aspect that has been most rewarding and challenging for me is managing our growth steadily to be sure we are identifying both immediate and long-term demand for our services. We are well positioned and I am looking forward to new challenges as we take this next step." Saunders joined FCT Assembly in June 2007 as the first employee solely designated to focusing on A-Laser sales. At the time, A-Laser was based in Beaverton, OR and housed one infrared (IR) and one ultraviolet (UV) laser, which mainly serviced companies in the Northwestern United States. Saunders task was to define and expand A-Laser’s customer base, and identify a strategic plan for growth. And steadily grow it has: under Josh's strategic direction, A-Laser has more than quadrupled its sales, expanding into international markets. Now based in Milpitas, CA, A-Laser is home to three IR lasers, four UV lasers and two IR marking systems with 21 employees.
