Blackfox Training and Veterans Assembled electronics Announce Agreement

Blackfox will use its extensive training experience to teach VAe’s STRAC (Skills TRaining And Certification) Program. The STRAC BASIC TECH (Basic Assembly, Soldering, Inspection and Cabling TECH) course was designed by VAe for military veterans with little or no experience in the electronic manufacturing services industry.

Longmont, CO: The comprehensive program is six consecutive weeks of 40 hours per week at the Blackfox training facility in Longmont, CO. The graduate earns 4 IPC certificates, and 1 ETA certificate:

1. IPC J-STD-001: Certified Specialist (CIS) in Soldering of Electronic Assemblies
2. IPC-A-610: Certified Specialist (CIS) in Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies
3. IPC-7711/7721: Certified Specialist (CIS) in Rework of electronic assemblies and repair and modification of printed board and assemblies
4. IPC-A-620: Certified Specialist (CIS) in Cable and Harness Assemblies.
5. Certified Associate Electronics Technician (CETa)

This is the first program of its type to prepare veterans who have little or no industry experience with the skills training and certifications that enable them to enter and create a career path in this growth industry. The first class at Blackfox is scheduled for early February.

“We couldn’t be happier that Blackfox has agreed to teach our STRAC program. They are one of the oldest and most respected IPC training centers in the country”, said VAe’s CEO, John Shepard.

VAe, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, is an electronics manufacturing company with a commitment to provide military veterans the training, certification, and preparation needed to pursue careers in the electronics industry. VAe assists graduates of the STRAC program with preparing for and finding employment.
Blackfox Training Institute is a recognized IPC Training Center and a Colorado Approved Proprietary School. Veterans eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chap.33) may use their earned benefits to attend this course.
