Test Your Knowledge

In the "Test Your Knowledge" section of the newsletter, dated August 2nd, the question "How many nautical miles are there in one degree of latitude?" has an incorrect response.

The answer posted, "Each degree of latitude is approximately 69 miles. The range varies slightly due to the earth's slightly ellipsoid shape."  is incorrect.

You asked for nautical miles, and gave the answer in statute miles.

The answer should be 60 nautical miles (approximately 69 statute miles) in one degree of latitude
