Last November I accepted a position to lead a mature, profitable, and small EMS company to the next level in its evolution. After 28 years in the industry, I still feel energized and confident in the future.
At Circuitronics, we have recently added capital, hired senior employees, purchased a new ERP system, and adopted lean manufacturing techniques to make a good company even better.
One of the secrets to success in the EMS business is partnering with the right OEM customers to carry each other through the hard times that build character. I have a positive attitude and enthusiastically offer turn-key solutions that make it easier for the customers to do business with us.
Texas seems to be doing a great job of attracting new business and employment. Follow the models of what is working. I see OEM executives growing weary of all the front-end logistics in low to medium volume builds that are half way around the world. Logistics and automation lesson the effects of labor cost differences.
We can find creative ways to encourage growth through confidence and ingenuity. We are blessed in this great country of ours by having a culture that overcomes challenges and makes discoveries.
I am optimistic about growing the niche manufacturing in the U.S. I am a problem solver by nature and excited about our company’s and country’s prospect for the future. We as a nation cannot win a head-to-head labor cost battle, but we can win the agility and responsiveness battle. Find your niche, engage, and be the best.
