SMTA Hong Kong announces that the inauguration of the 2009-2010 SMTA Hong Kong Chapter Executive Committee members was held at the SMTA China South 2009 Conference Award Presentation Ceremony, officiated by Tom Forsythe, Vice President of SMTA, and Dr. Chuck Bauer, International Chairman of SMTA, on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Shenzhen Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Danny Li, Executive Consultant for Topco Manufacturing Ltd., was appointed to serve as President for the SMTA Hong Kong Chapter Executive Committee for the 2009-10 term.

Maverick Luk, Public Relations Manager at Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., was appointed Senior Vice President.

Simon Wong, Director of The Refined Industry Co., Ltd., was named Vice President of Memberships.

Michael Wong, Director-Manufacturing Engineering, Embedded Computing and Power, Emerson Network Power, was appointed Vice President of Technology.

Alfred Sham, Vice President of Computime International Ltd., was appointed Vice President of Training.

John Lau, SMTA Hong Kong Chapter, was named Honorary Secretary.

Kenny Man, Senior Manager at NEC Tokin Hong Kong Ltd., was named Honorary Treasurer.

The following members will serve as Executive Committee members: Peter Sun, Vice President of Business Development at Ryder Industries Ltd.; Simon Lam, General Manager at Qantas Technology Ltd.; Abby Tsoi, Director of Kasion Automation Ltd.; Alex Choi, General Manager at VTech Communications Ltd.; Ivan Leung, Executive Director of Sun East Technology (Holdings) Ltd.; and Sam Leung, Vice President of Business Development at Excelstor Technology.

Advisory Council members for the 2009-2010 term also were inaugurated at the ceremony. Council members include: Professors YC Chan and Edward Yung, Chair Professors for the EE Department at the City University of Hong Kong. Professor KB Chan, Chairman of the Surface Mount Technology (Holdings) Ltd. was named Honorary President.
