BTU International and KIC to Co-Host Reflow Webinar

NORTH BILLERICA, Mass. — BTU International (Nasdaq: BTUI), a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment and processes for the alternative energy and electronics manufacturing markets, today announced that BTU and KIC will co-host a webinar titled “Lowering Your Reflow Costs.” KIC is the industry leader in automated thermal management tools and systems for thermal processing, including reflow.

Fred Dimock, manager of process technology for BTU, and Brian O’Leary, sales manager – Americas for KIC, will present the joint webinar.

The Webinar will be presented twice: first at 1:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, April 24, 2009, and second at 9:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, April 28. The webinar will highlight some methods and tools that can be used to lower energy costs while maintaining profiles that are within the solder manufacturer’s reflow specifications. When money gets tight, engineers are challenged to find ways to reduce manufacturing costs. Although the focus in an SMT process typically is on identifying less expensive materials and reducing scrap, the efficient operation of a reflow oven often is overlooked.
