Yavne, Israel– Valor Computerized Systems Ltd., a global provider of productivity improvement software solutions for the printed circuit board industry, announces the availability of new enhancements to Enterprise 3000, its automated DFM verification tool for PCB design.
Version 8.2 introduces significant improvements to overall system performance. Improvements made to the analysis algorithms have resulted in an average 25% reduction in processing time. Furthermore, improvements in memory management enable analysis of larger designs than previously possible. Valor is pleased to announce with version 8.2 the availability of the Enterprise 3000 DFM software on both Windows 64bit based systems with expanded memory (4GB) and the Linux Redhat operating system. These platforms provide even greater support for large designs and faster performance on complex designs.
The new version also incorporates functionality that improves the system’s ease-of-use, simplifies the DFM analysis preparation process and improves upon filtering capabilities.
Better Control and Predictability - To provide a predictable and repeatable process, the new Design Preparation Rule Sets module automates the addition of attributes to features and components, eliminating the need for custom automation for this procedure. Preparing a design is now an order of magnitude faster and easier than using traditional automation techniques.
Attribute Friendly Environment - Attributes are now provided with a complete and meaningful name, making it easier for DFM users to set-up and be productive.
In support of customer needs, version 8.2 provides additional new analysis verification of HDI designs and improves on existing categories.
Net Integrity, Electrical Return Path, and Via Stack Count for HDI Analysis - “Via Stack Count” verification is used to locate likely microvia fractures and return path validation which ensures a designated signals have a required reference net for buildup and core layers. Version 8.2 also enables wire bond and die pad netlist validation which provides the ability to perform a new level of custom component netlist analysis.
Pad Thermal Verification and Bottleneck Analysis Improvements - The analysis for thermal impact of embedded pads has been improved to calculate the percentage of perimeter for the covered area to minimize incorrect identification of DFM issues. Also, a refinement to the copper bottleneck analysis now separates results created by two routes from other conditions, providing a more precise classification.
Commenting on the new version, Max Clark, Valor’s Product Manager for DFM, said “Version 8.2 represents many improvements in multiple facets of the Enterprise 3000. Listening to our customers, Valor is delivering enhanced performance, improved on the general ease of use and completed development on major new analysis needs. Version 8.2 in many ways represents the start of much more to come.”
Valor’s Enterprise 3000 DFM software is a unique, virtual manufacturing system, which enables the user to simulate the entire production process of a given PCB, from design to manufacture to assembly, concurrent with the design process. Using a physical model of the PCB assembly, the system helps optimize designs for excellence, resulting in improved product quality, lower NPI costs and the near elimination of revision spins.
