SMTA Boston Academy Announced MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The SMTA is pleased to announce the 2009 SMTA Boston Academy program. SMTA Boston will be held April 22-23, 2009 at the Boston Convention Center in conjunction with Electronics New England (including NEPCON East). This year's program will feature a series of half-day and full-day courses led by top industry instructors. The Academy courses address both cutting edge and fundamental topics in electronics manufacturing and business issues. Topics featured are SMT Process Fundamentals for Tin-Lead, Lead Free and Mixed Assembly, Next Generation Technologies in Electronic Packaging and Production, The Reality of Lead-Free Reliability, Advanced Component Packages & Processes, Aspects and Impacts of REACH, Common Failure Modes in Electronic Packages and Assemblies and How to Avoid Them, Construction, and PCB Design and Assembly of BGA and Leadless Packages for Pb-Free. All Academy attendees who are not currently members of the SMTA will receive a one-year Individual Membership with their registration. Current Individual members will receive a one-year renewed membership (one renewal allowed per year). The Early Bird deadline is March 20, which saves the attendee 10% of the total registration for the event.
