North China’s Bohai Electronics Week (BEW 08) Opens

The industry has high expectations of yet another dynamic Bohai Electronics Week (BEW 08) as Reed Exhibitions opens its doors today, 10th November 2008. Held at the Tianjin International Exhibition Centre, the show provides an unparalleled opportunity for the region to experience the latest products and innovations the electronics manufacturing market has to offer.

Important to the BEW ethos is to provide business, technological and networking solutions all in one show. The event has once again succeeded in drawing decision makers, managers, purchasers and technical personnel, from all sectors of the electronics manufacturing industry, who will rub shoulders with industry heavyweights and gain the valuable knowledge that will springboard the success of their businesses for the coming year.

Year on year the show continues to break its own record and now, in its fourth year, visitor numbers are expected to increase to well over 4,000. BEW 2008 will bring key industry professionals together for a three-day event in Tianjin to present the latest technologies, discuss business opportunities and generate new contacts. The 2008 show will be hosted by more than 100 eager exhibitors, from leading industry names who have traveled from nine countries to take part in the event. Testament to the importance of the region and the quality of its visiting manufacturing companies, exhibitors have traveled from the USA, UK, Germany, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and China. The organizers are also delighted that Panasonic will make their debut at BEW 2008 with the exciting launch of a brand new machine, alongside leading industry names such as Folungwin, Unicomp, Techwin, Shimadzu, A&P, Autoveyor, Ellsworth, Evest, Mirae, Mirtec, Musashi, Nihon Superior, Toshiba, Tronic and many more. Across 6,000 square meters of exhibition space, these companies will showcase the best the industry has to offer, providing an important opportunity to make contact with the movers and shakers of North China.

With the focus firmly on surface mount technology, test and measurement, electronics manufacturing and automotive electronics, an impressive line-up of over 700 high-quality visitor delegations, from 25 major electronics manufacturing companies can expect to discover a wealth of equipment and services. As well as electronics and mobile phone components, flat panel display modules and applications. Notable visitor delegations include Fujitsu, Motorola, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, to name but a few.

Visitors to BEW 08 can always expect an abundant array of educational opportunities and this year will certainly not disappoint. Communication and training are vital to encouraging more productive links between local and international companies. Held in conjunction with BEW 08, SMTA China North Conference 2008 will address the industry’s most important and topical issues concerning electronics manufacturing, advanced packaging and lead-free reliability. The seminars will cover subjects from 01005 Assembly, 3D SiP, Challenges of PCB Fabrication Technology and Surface Finish, Flex Circuit Assembly and Manufacturing Engineering.

BEW will continue to captivate visitors as they host the first ever live demonstration of a SMT Line, with participating companies including Aleader, Desen. Josephine Lee, East China Vice President, Reed Exhibitions sums up the enthusiasm for BEW 08, “As we enter our fourth event in Tianjin, industry giants such as Panasonic will participate for the first time, making it an important platform for a major machine launch. This shift means companies are no longer adopting a wait-and-see attitude to the event, indicating that the economical development of the pan-Bohai Sea region can no longer be ignored. We would urge companies to respond to the significant opportunities this event opens up for them. The doors have opened today on a culmination of hard work and commitment to this show and to this region and once again there is real excitement around the show floor.”

BEW (Bohai Electronics Week) opens today at the Tianjin International Exhibition Centre and runs from 10th to 12th November 2008.
