After celebrating the success of its 2008 show, National Electronics Week (NEW) has now turned its attention towards 2009. With Event Director Claire Jeffreys promising bigger and better things for the show’s second year, she has confirmed that NEW 2009 will extend its scope of coverage even further to incorporate new dedicated environments for a wider range of industries.
From design and components through to production and distribution, the NEW show was founded on a commitment to serving every aspect of modern electronics. Being held at London’s Earls Court 2 over 16th – 18th June, the 2009 show will take this commitment even further with the launch of dedicated environments for Production/EMS, Test, Solar/PV, Wireless, Embedded Systems and Components. Dividing the floorplan into colour-coded sectors for different industries, the initiative will enable exhibitors and visitors to make the most of every opportunity for learning, discovery, business and networking. There will also be confirmed International Pavilions from Singapore, China and Taiwan.
“The new-look show is a direct result of visitor and exhibitor feedback from last year’s event, in addition to our ongoing market research activities,” explains NEW Event Director, Claire Jeffreys. “When we launched NEW, it was because there was nothing else that truly represented the needs of the whole industry. We created a show set up to do exactly this and, to make sure it stays that way, it will constantly evolve alongside the marketplace, getting bigger and better each year. Photovoltaics, Wireless and Embedded Systems are all core industries in the UK, so it is only appropriate that we provide dedicated support for these markets in 2009.”
Hot on the heels of last year’s success, NEW 2009 has already generated an impressive level of demand. Confirmed exhibitors include some of the industry’s biggest names such as: Juki, MYDATA, Parkheath, PACE, XJTAG, Lambda, Anders, EFD and Ansmann . Early reports from the exhibition team suggest that the level of interest from all corners of the industry is high and that indicators for the 2009 show are extremely positive.
