Christopher Associates today announced that Jasbir Bath of Bath Technical Consultancy has been retained as a Consulting Engineer to advise and support the company and its customers in the Americas.
Jasbir will primarily support Koki soldering material products in North America. For the past ten years he served as the Corporate Lead Engineer with Solectron Corporation and Flextronics International with a role involving tin-lead and lead-free solder process development. These activities included a wide range of evaluations of tin-lead and lead-free soldering pastes and flux materials.
“I am excited to work with Christopher Associates and Koki to help support and develop the products they supply in the Americas”, said Jasbir Bath. “Koki has a very good set of soldering products for the customer to choose from. I plan to use the experience I have gained in the electronics manufacturing industry to not only support Christopher’s customers, but to provide input on product development and material selection in the field.”
Jasbir is also an INEMI (International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative) Consultant working on the INEMI lead-free rework optimization project. Prior to his work at Solectron Corporation/Flextronics International, he was a Technical Officer at ITRI (International Tin Research Institute/ Tin Technology) Ltd in the U.K. He holds BS and MS degrees in Materials Science from the University of Manchester/ UMIST in England, U.K.
Jasbir is the editor of the Springer Publications book: Lead-free Soldering and co-editor of the IEEE-Wiley book: Lead-free Electronics, iNEMI Projects Lead to Successful Manufacturing. He has also co-authored the Lead-free Manufacturing chapter of the IEEE-Wiley book: Lead-free Electronics. During his work with INEMI he helped to develop the process and reliability data around the INEMI lead-free alloy: Sn3.9Ag0.6Cu. He also worked with the IPC Solder Value Council to develop process and reliability data for Sn3Ag0.5Cu solder. He worked on the IPC Blue Ribbon Committee to develop the IPC Lead-free Process Certification Site Audit and co-chairs the IPC/JEDEC J-STD-609 labeling standard. He currently serves on the IPC APEX Conference Technical Committee and is the President of the SMTA Silicon Valley Chapter.
