National Electronics Week a Qualified Success
The inaugural National Electronics Week presented the UK industry in fine form at Earl’s Court last month. Visitors to the event found a bright, spacious and professional hall featuring an ingenious layout and populated by exhibiting companies keen to do business.
Reports from the show floor confirmed that, for the vast majority of exhibitors, the show was a qualified success. Many met new prospects and some sold products off the stand. Interviews with visitors revealed the location to be well received and that the scope of NEW’s broader industry coverage was a key attraction. In short, National Electronics Week delivered enough to secure its future as the UK’s premier event.
Event director, Claire Jeffreys, says it is heartening to receive positive feedback and see optimistic perspectives from all corners of the industry. “This was a brand new show in a new location at a new time of year, which was always going to present challenges. While we had hoped for more visitors, exhibitors tell me that the quality of leads was excellent,” she adds. “NEW has been endorsed as a unique business forum, and I want to thank all our exhibitors and everyone involved with the show for their hard work.”
Innovative initiatives are already well underway to help grow next year’s National Electronics Week. “We are able to use the success of the 2008 show as a platform for the development and improvement of subsequent events. There are lots of interesting opportunities being presented to us,” states Jeffreys.
National Electronics Week will take place at Earl’s Court 2 from 16th to 18th June 2009.
