The team at National Electronics Week has confirmed that the highly anticipated NEW keynote speech will be delivered by none other than renowned inventor, Trevor Baylis OBE. Now only days away, the London-based show’s announcement further extends its capacity to provide a total event solution for today’s electronics professionals.
Entitled ‘Why Invest? Inventors, Inventions and How to Get Your Ideas to Market’, the keynote speech will incorporate anecdotes from Trevor’s long and varied career which has seen him undertake roles including professional swimmer, stuntman and of course, inventor. Perhaps best known as the creator of the first ever wind-up radio, Trevor’s Freeplay invention was awarded the BBC Design Award for Best Product and Best Design in 1996 and helped win him an OBE in 1997. It also led to the launch of Trevor Baylis Brands, an enterprise that saw him team up with a group of experienced business professionals to help fellow inventors learn more about their inventions, how to protect them and seek routes to market.
Being held over June 17th -19th at London’s Earls Court 2, National Electronics Week is the UK’s only dedicated electronics exhibition. As such, show organisers are placing the theme of Learning & Discovery at the heart of the exhibition, making Trevor a worthy choice of speaker as Event Organiser, Claire Jeffreys explains. “We’re delighted to welcome Trevor as our keynote speaker. As a highly revered showman, world-famous inventor and top motivational speaker, his speech will undoubtedly be both highly entertaining and extremely educational. With an unrivalled technical seminar line-up, two live production lines and even, an international brokerage event, we’re taking our commitment to education seriously. The addition of a dynamic keynote speaker really does seal our ability to deliver something for everyone – regardless of their market sector.”
Spanning the entire electronics industry, from design and components, through to production and distribution, NEW will host over 350 exhibiting companies including Altium, DEK, Europlacer, Goepel, Interpower Components, MYDATA, National Instruments, OK International, Panasonic, Samsung and Seho UK. In addition to evaluating new and proven technologies from some of the industry’s leading names, visitors will also be able to witness two live and interactive production lines in the show’s dynamic Production Live! environment, in addition to enjoying an unrivalled line-up of seminars and workshops.
