SMT China’s VISION and EM Asia’s Innovation Awards

Carlsbad, CA – Asymtek, a Nordson company (Nasdaq: NDSN) and leader in dispensing, coating and jetting technologies, announces it received Surface Mount Technology (SMT) China magazine’s prestigious VISION Award for its scalable Spectrum™ S-920 Series dispensing system and Electronics Manufacturing (EM) Asia’s Innovation Award for its SelectCoat SL-940E conformal coating system. Asymtek won best in the dispensing equipment categories, as judged by panels of independent industry experts. The winners were recognized at ceremonies held during NEPCON China in Shanghai, 8-11 April, 2008.

Asymtek’s Spectrum S-920N received SMT China’s VISION Award based on criteria that included creativeness and innovativeness, performance, reliability, cost effectiveness, ease of use, flexibility, compatibility, quality of contributions, and environmental responsibility. This is the second year Asymtek received the award. The VISION Award honors world-class suppliers serving the electronics industry in China.

The S-920N is a scalable dispensing platform that delivers lower cost of ownership for high-volume microelectronics packaging and printed circuit board assembly applications such as flip-chip and ball grid array and chip scale packaging underfill. Its integrated process controls result in increased accuracy and yield. These include Rapid Response Heater™ and Controlled Process Heat (CpH^ä) that reduce start-up time, decrease ramp time, deliver uniform heat across the part surface, and maintain automated heat control.

The Electronics Manufacturing (EM) Asia Innovation Award, sponsored by EM Asia magazine, strives to recognize and celebrate excellence in the Asian electronics industry, inspiring companies to achieve the highest standards and push the industry forward. Judging was based on innovation and achievement, setting challenging objectives, and outstanding achievement.
