EFD® Introduces Optimum™ Dispensing Cartridges

Engineered Fluid Dispensing Systems increase throughput, improve yields, and reduce production costs

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I.--EFD, Inc., a subsidiary of Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ: NDSN), introduces the new Optimum Cartridge System, the new addition to their Optimum family of dispensing components.

EFD’s new Optimum cartridges have been designed as a complete, integrated system that provides significant advantages over what is currently available in the marketplace today.

Optimum cartridges feature a new design and construction that eliminate the costly waste that occurs from cracking and splitting with competitive products. They are made of a new polypropylene resulting in exceptional clarity that allows the user to easily identify trapped air or contaminants that could affect production results. The proprietary ZeroDraftTM design ensures that the internal diameter of the cartridge is consistent from top to bottom, with no variations that could affect process results.

During use, cartridges are secured in new, see-through ergonomic retainers that permit easy visual confirmation of fluid levels. Backward compatibility has been maintained to allow Optimum cartridges to be used with most retainers on the market today.

The new Optimum cartridges are available in clear and light-blocking configurations. Capacities include 2.5 oz (75ml), 6 oz (180ml), 12 oz (360ml) and 20 oz (600ml). All components are patent pending.

Optimum pistons are engineered and molded to mate perfectly with the cartridge walls. Their consistent dimensions and fit prevent leakage during filling and storage, and the precision wiping edge eliminates waste as fluid is dispensed, further reducing production costs.

Cartridge end caps feature a new pushbutton design that provides an air-tight seal at the top of the cartridge, while threaded; self-venting outlet caps prevent leaks and keep air from being introduced into the fluid.
