Powering the Future
“The end is nigh, be it an environmental disaster or running out of fuel. Go Green before it’s too late.” Whether this is the case or not, there is a definite economic advantage to the Green approach when it comes to energy usage. PULS, Europe’s largest manufacturer of DIN rail power supplies, have been specifically chosen by Eco-Home product designers to power new money saving home technologies. The PULS integrated Ultra Efficient Power Controller, that helps maximise power while minimising waste, makes the PULS power supplies ideal for a multitude of environmentally and financially conscious projects.
One product that is taking the market by storm is the WebBrick. Using the high efficiency PULS power supplies, this intelligent monitoring and control system reduces energy usage by up to 20%, reducing a household’s carbon foot and its energy bills. The WebBrick and its PULS power supplies are being showcased in the BASF Eco-Home, part of the Creative Energy Homes Project at Nottingham University. The House, which was built in 25 weeks and can be reproduced for as little as £70,000, makes use of current technologies to reduce energy usage and show that it is within everyone’s abilities to choose efficient products and save money.
The unit that was specifically chosen for the project was from the PULS Dimension range which has efficiencies up to 96%. The units are available with output voltages from 12Vdc to 56Vdc, operating temperature from -25ºC to 70ºC and are available with conformal coating to protect against dirt and water.
Harry Moore, Managing Director of PULS UK Ltd, comments “PULS power supplies have always been market leaders in efficiency, and I am very excited about our contribution to the new Eco-Home project. The WebBrick powered by PULS provide a bright future for cost saving on our energy bills. High efficiency doesn’t only make environmental sense it makes financial sense!”
PULS featuring the WebBrick application will be exhibiting at this year’s National Electronics Week. Alongside interactive demos and technical details of how and why this technology saves money, PULS will continue to demonstrate the importance of energy efficiency.
With the world divided over the Green Issue, PULS in combination with WebBrick systems are proud to be providing technologies that will save consumers money on their energy cost and help reduce their carbon footprint.
