atg Luther & Maelzer GmbH, in cooperation with Everett Charles Technologies, announces that on April 9, 2008 it invited its German suppliers to celebrate the successful completion of its latest projects — the S1, which is a high-speed flying prober and A5, an automated flying prober. The focus of the meeting was to thank its suppliers, especially those local to atg LM, for their successful cooperation in the quick-turn of the new products.
Although several large manufacturers have shifted their production to China, some successful innovative medium-sized companies have stayed in Europe. To meet the requirements of these companies, atg LM has developed the automated flying prober A5A. The system is extremely flexible and achieves high test speeds at a moderate price. The A5A was introduced to the market the first time during Productronica 2007 in Munich and sparked the audience’s interest. While the A5A was designed specifically for the European market, some Japanese customers are interested in the system as well.
Miniaturization is the keyword in modern electronics. Leading PCB manufacturers from Japan, Taiwan and Korea are defining new standards with respect to miniaturization and the density of components on the PCB. The reliable test of structures that are much smaller than a human hair is necessary to ensure proper function of the end user’s device. Together with IDAM, a company headquartered in Suhl, Germany, atg LM developed the new, extremely precise and fast test system S1. This test system is equipped with eight test probes and achieves a test speed of up to 400 measurements per second.
atg Luther & Maelzer GmbH, headquartered at Wertheim and Wunstorf, is the undisputed market leader worldwide for the electrical test of bare printed circuit boards with an annual turnover of 45 million EUR and approximately 1,680 active test systems installed worldwide.
