MORRISVILLE, NC - Juki Corporation, a world-leading provider of automated assembly products and systems, announces that Bob Black Jr., its president and CEO, was appointed as an officer to the IPC’s board of directors.

Black has nearly 35 years of senior executive management experience in the circuit board and semiconductor industries. He was co-founder of Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association (SMEMA) and author of the IPC/SMEMA fiducial mark and mechanical interface standards. While on SMEMA’s board, he worked to merge the association with IPC and helped found the APEX exhibition. Black chairs the IPC SMEMA Steering Committee. He also was the president and co-founder of Zevatech in 1977 and introduced the pick-and-place system at Nepcon West in 1980.
