The team at OK International is currently celebrating two high-profile award wins, having collected a prestigious EM Asia Innovation Award for its advanced PS-900 Soldering System and an SMT Vision Award for its MFR Multi-Function Rework System. Both systems are controlled and powered by OK International’s innovative SmartHeat® Technology.

Further reinforcing the company’s commitment to developing the Asian electronics market with product and process innovation, the 2008 SMT Vision Award was presented to the company after its MFR Series of soldering/desoldering equipment topped the category of ‘Hand Tools-Soldering’. Held on April 8^th at Shanghai’s Everbright Hotel, the awards celebrated the MFR Series’ capacity to deliver exceptional performance flexibility, offering assembly companies a rework solution tailored precisely to their needs, whatever their size, manufacturing volume, product complexity and budgetary constraints.

Completing OK International’s awards double, the EM Asia Award saw the company’s PS-900 technology lead the hotly-contested Manual Soldering Equipment category. Held on April 9^th also in Shanghai, the award ceremony recognised the system’s ability to deliver high power with superior thermal control for improved production quality, better joint formation and reduced tip erosion for lower tip replacement and downtime. The system eliminates common lead-free process issues such as rapid tip erosion, scorching of the PCB surface and thermal damage to components that can occur when the tip temperature is too high.
