Live production lines in action at National Electronics Week
Reinforcing its status as the UK’s premier event for the whole electronics industry, National Electronics Week has extended its educational line-up even further with the inclusion of two state-of-the-art production lines. Running live several times per day at the show in London’s Earls Court 2 over June 17th – 19th, the exhibit will showcase advanced Lead-Free production and test technologies in action from Stand A80. The event will be sponsored by EMP Magazine.
Representing diverse electronics requirements, the NEW production lines will feature both four-layer and six-layer PCB types. Every board will be processed against a choice of different parameters including surface finish, stencils, solder paste and reflow processes. By incorporating a broad range of process variables, the exhibit will ensure that visitors gain valuable insight into a variety of manufacturing demands. Ideal for attendees from every aspect of the electronics spectrum – from design and components, through to production and distribution – the live production lines will highlight how to achieve process optimisation in today’s lead-free environment.
Featuring a wide range of components from 0201s to large BGAs and sophisticated QFNs, the production line will include several leading-edge testing technologies such as X-Ray, and AOI. Focusing on the theme of ‘Reliability & Quality’, the exhibit will provide attendees with an opportunity to be part of the line and take part in live discussion forums to analyse the results of tests conducted on the show floor. All findings will be evaluated by a panel of experts from bare board and solder paste suppliers to independent industry representatives.
“Learning and discovery is a major focus for us here at NEW; our commitment to education being something we take extremely seriously,” explains NEW Event Director, Claire Jeffreys. “The NEW production line is a fantastic opportunity for our exhibitors and visitors alike to see the results of tests conducted live on the show floor that they perhaps haven’t been able to run in-house due to time and material limitations. We know that the UK industry operates at the forefront of production and test capabilities – and this is our chance to prove it!”
