Optimal Electronics Partners with Test_ing for Sales, Support in Mexico

AUSTIN, TX — Optimal Electronics Corporation, a global provider of innovative software solutions for the control and optimization of the electronics assembly process, announces that it has partnered with Test_ing, Tecnologia, Control y Automatizacion Industrial of Chihuhua City, Mexico for sales and support in Mexico.

Test_ing now represents and supports Optimal Electronics’ Optel MES software suite throughout Mexico. Optimal Electronics offers a suite of industry-leading software tools for the electronics assembly industry, including solutions for shop floor productivity, optimization, part verification, and component-level traceability. This offering is supported by the company’s vast application experience to help manufacturers achieve their production and quality goals. Test_ing adds additional application expertise with its experienced team of hardware and software engineers. Under the agreement, Optimal Electronics will work with the company to extend its MES software suite to communicate with automated test and inspection equipment.

“We are very pleased to have Test_ing as our partner in Mexico,” said Doug Norton, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “They are exactly the type of partner we look for: trusted professionals with deep industry experience and integrity, always placing customer success first. And their expertise in automated test equipment and processes is a perfect complement to our Optel MES software.”

As a trusted supplier of automated test equipment and services to electronics manufacturers throughout Mexico, Test_ing applies the latest technologies and innovations. Through their customer engagements, they had identified a huge need for a more holistic approach to improving customer operations as they strive to become Lean manufacturers. Specifically, that a real-time execution software infrastructure was needed between ERP/MRP systems and the various shop floor equipment to integrate and control the various islands of automation within these factories. The resulting productivity and throughput benefits are far more cost-effective than buying additional equipment or point products. MISIÓN

“Test_ing is very proudto represent Optimal Electronics in Mexico, both for sales and application support requirements,” said Carlos Arias, President. “In order for Mexico to remain a logistically competitive country for both OEM and CEM electronic business, companies must continue to identify opportunities for productivity, optimization, and quality control. Optimal Electronics offers the best, proven investment for customers seeking a total factory solution to their material handling, traceability, and automated electronic assembly optimization challenges. We intend to leverage our extensive automation and custom testing knowledge history to continue delivering world-class solutions to our clients, with Optimal Electronics as a powerful synergistic partner.”

Optel Dynamic Production Scheduling and multi-vendor machine programming is one such lean manufacturing software technology that is crucial for today’s highly dynamic electronics manufacturing environment. The market has shifted to require high-mix manufacturing with ever-decreasing lead times. This requires companies to be more agile and efficient than ever before if they are to be profitable. The Optel Dynamic Production Scheduling software helps manufacturers meet due dates while eliminating unnecessary changeovers, reducing the changeover times, and maximizing SMT throughput and utilization.

Another important Optel lean manufacturing software technology is factory-wide real-time material management. By integrating and communicating directly with the stockroom and component placement machines, Optel provides needed visibility to WIP and accurate inventory levels. This restores inventory integrity to ERP/MRP systems, allowing production management to make informed decisions. A key capability in Optel Material Management is component-level traceability. This is a requirement for electronics used in military, aerospace, automotive, communications, and medical products. It is also a crucial tool for manufacturers to ensure RoHS compliance (i.e.- lead free), purge defective components, and dramatically lower costs in the event of a recall.
