GREELEY, CO — FCT Solder, a division of FCT Assembly, announces that it has been awarded a Global Technology Award with Nihon Superior Co. Ltd. in the category of Soldering Materials for the innovative SN100C Paste. The award was presented to Managing Director Mike Scimeca by Global SMT & Packaging Magazine’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Trevor Galbraith during a Tuesday, November 13, 2007 ceremony that took place at the Forum Area in Hall A6 during the Productronica Exposition.

FCT Solder has positioned itself as a leader in the lead-free solder products field. Its partnership with Nihon Superior allows the company to offer the patented wave solder alloy, SN100C, to North America and Brazil.SN100C is a patented nickel stabilized tin/copper alloy that has had much success in the Far East. It is based on the eutectic 99.3% tin 0.7% copper with a trace amount of nickel that produces a dramatic improvement in the alloy when used in a wave solder application. Developed specifically for the lead-free process of mass soldering, SN100C operates under process conditions similar to those of conventional lead containing alloys. With SN100C it is possible to achieve high productivity while still producing reliable joints cost-effectively.
