A NEW start for modern electronics

As today’s component industry grows ever more complex, the need for an exhibition focused to its needs is greater than ever. National Electronics Week Event Director Claire Jeffreys tells us why she thinks the time is right for a NEW start.

“In my opinion, it’s been about a decade since the components industry had a sensible platform from which to showcase its expertise. Given the breadth of modern components, it is absolutely vital that designers have the opportunity to see beyond production assembly, getting further back into the product development process.

This is why we decided to launch National Electronics Week, a brand new exhibition opportunity with a comprehensive scope of coverage - from design right through to production and distribution. As a fantastic forum to focus on some of the key issues facing the components industry, including power conversion and management, wireless networking and achieving next generation process nodes, I believe that National Electronics Week represents a new start for the industry.

Our new brand of targeted exhibition support is being supported by high profile names industry-wide, with companies such as Wurth Electronics, Lauterbach and Young Electronics already on board. I recently spoke with Young Electronics’ Ken Poole who explained: “Since we work not only with buyers but also with designers, NEW offers us a fantastic opportunity to meet our target audience. We’ve taken more space at this show than we have at any other show over the past few years – simply because we are very confident that it will deliver what we need.”

Our team is now working hard to ensure the show delivers the level of support required by today’s electronics industry. Since components are obviously a fundamental part of this landscape, we are committed to ensuring that the show represents a return to form for this important market sector.”

National Electronics Week is being held over 17th – 19th June 2008 at London’s Earls Court. Find out more at http://www.nationalelectronicsweek.co.uk/.
