Exclusive - Juki Open House

Exclusive - Juki Open House
We were invited to join an "Open House" for Juki Automation Systems at their new Fremont facility last week in rainy California. Juki's new 45,000 sq foot facility was impressive with large demonstration space featuring two working production lines including stencil printers, placement systems, reflow and selective soldering technology. The Open House drew hundreds of people to tour the new facility even as the local news was warning everyone about the rain storm, the largest in years.

Juki has been serving its customers from an office in the Bay area for many years, but this new facility doubled the space to support their growing customers. The facility has over a dozen people and includes demo room, dedicated training classroom large inventory of machinery, options and spare parts. There were several Juki placement machines available for demonstration to meet a range of production needs. The 2013 agreement between Juki and Sony has delivered a new high speed RX7 system capable of placing 75,000 components per hour along with Juki's flexible placement system for a high speed flexible line.

The customers we spoke to during the event were impressed by the level of capabilities to run their sample boards through the entire assembly process. Juki has been increasing their capabilities to offer a turnkey solution to customers over the past few years and this showroom has it all. Juki has partnered with companies in Germany, Japan, Singapore and Italy to deliver solutions for a complete production line with one team for installation, training and support.

We also learned of a new revolutionary new concept from JUKI that allows for the placement or insertion of both surface mount and through-hole components. The new machine can insert axial and radial through hole components as well as place SMT devices in one platform providing great flexibility for the customer.

Congratulations to Juki for a successful Open House.
